Darrell Kirk of the Quick Feat USA office was busy this year attending several fabric shows, including the Functional Fabric Fair (Spring and Fall Shows) as well as The Materials Show.
Both shows took place in Portland, OR, and have grown significantly in the last couple of years. “I have attended The Materials Show for over twenty years, and I am delighted to see the robust shows that Hisham and Carrie continue to put together each year,” noted Kirk.
Both shows provide an important opportunity to see the latest in sustainable fabrics, processes, and trims. Several sustainable fabrics and fibers were on display that use a variety of feedstocks, including oyster shells, tea leaves, and fish skin. The show is also a great place to learn about sustainable processes, certification programs, and more during the daily presentations and panel discussions which are held throughout the day.
These shows are an incredible asset to our industry and we look forward to their continued growth. In addition to cutting edge sustainable offerings, these shows are a place for our industry to come together.
