On May 16-17, 2018, Mountain Equipment Co-op (MEC) invited and hosted 40 of their top vendor partners (including Quickfeat International) from 12 different countries to a Global Vendor Summit in Hong Kong. It was a rare opportunity to bring together partners from MEC’s supply chain to share insights into the evolution of their brand. Of particular importance to Quickfeat was how MEC supports their partners in developing a greater understanding of social and environmental best practices. There was also time for some fun! A large group of attendees hiked Section 4 of the MacLehose Trail, which runs east to west in the New Territories. At 702 meters, Ma On Shan (‘Horse Saddle Mountain’) is the second highest peak in the New Territories. It was humid and difficult, but everyone supported each other, made it to the summit, and were rewarded with the view. The MEC Vendor Summit was a huge success for all involved – new friendships and alliances were formed, honest commitments and goals were set, and a clear path forward was determined. Quickfeat was honored to attend and feels fortunate to be part of the MEC family.
